Default Flashing a 99 PCM with 00+ VIN?

I have a V6 Camaro, it's a 99. The 00+ V6s can use HPP3, and I'm wondering if I could flash my PCM w/ a 00+ VIN? That, or swap in a 00+ PCM in may car?

GM shows a different p/n for the 99 V6 PCMs and the 00+ PCMs, but as far as I know, they are identical

The only changes that I know of are the exhaust manifolds, which were changed from rams-horn to tubular in 00. Thanks.

Edit: I just noticed, looking at the drawings, the EEPROM is a separate part on top of the PCM. I wonder if I could swap just the EEPROM??
