Default shift point

Is setting shift point above 6k on a stock ls1 cam a waste?

i would assume it would be a waste, not possitively sure though. to my understanding, cars with a aftermarket cam raise the shift point above 6k because they are making peak power around 6500rpm(different with different cams). also the stock ls1 cam and valvetrain aren't strong enough to go that much higher than 6k. hopefully someone with more knowledge on the subject will come in and go into more detail.

The rod bolts can't handle much over 6200 either and will fail.

With an A4 it will help but probably not on the M6. My car ran faster shifting above 6K for the 1-2 shift.
