Default JET power programer

Someone gave me a JET power programer for my car. i plugged it in and it saved my stock settings then i selected stage 3 because i use 93 octane fuel and it downloaded a tune that was already set on it from the company (you can also custom tune) i jumped through all the hoops and took the car for a ride i didnt notice anything really but my friends said it picked up faster but when it shifts into second it barks tires ! the thing says it adjust shift points and firmness so it feels a little quicker ! tell me what you guys think...and remember it was free lol. it says it adjust A/F ratio, timing, and everything.

It bet u didnt gain much hp if any...maybe it feels torquier because like u said the shift firmness and point adjustments...I used a hpp once, car felt faster after the tune but gained nothing at the track...Those handhelds were cool tools to play w/ before dyno tuning became so abundant/available. There mostly used now to save different dyno tunes.
