It totally depends on your car. Some cars can handle lots of timing, others will knock and ping all over the place and just generally not be happy with much over stock.

Get your car on the dyno, use a wideband and fully tune it. When my car was stock (lid and filter were the only mods) I put down 325whp on the first past. 2 hours of tuning later and I was making 340whp. Even a stock vehicle with manifolds can benefit from a good dyno tune.

Usually between 25-28... Some like more , some like less. Just because you have 32* at WOT and there's no knock doesn't mean it's liking it. Like the guy said above me throw it on the dyno and make some hits! Good luck

Thanks for the replys, don't have dyno access, and not in a position to put it on there yet, just wanted to know what not to exceed....

Good safe place to start is 26 degrees at peak torque (4800 rpm) and ramping up to 28 degrees by 5600 rpm. You can then experiment with more timing or less. The 26/28 is very common for stock LS1 running 91-93 octane. Don't be surprised if your power doesn't change much with 2 degrees more or 2 degrees less timing. 26-28 degrees is the sweet spot for most stock motors.

Hey Patrick, see you are from Victoria, grew up there, still have family there too....

So would the tables be the same in low and high octane, and can I run either fuel......just cut and paste to the same in each table....if you have time, can you look at my tune file......
