I bought a ratcheting crimp tool from weatherpack.com and I really like it, it's been great for not just PCM pins, but every other harness pin as well. The right tool from them will allow you to properly crimp pins to wiring as well as crimp seals to pins to properly seal other underhood electrical connector housings.

also interested... would rather re-pin, than cut/splice/solder, much cleaner...
Anybody else have or know where to get a tool that allows pin removal on the PCM connector...Also replacement pins??

You don't need a tool to remove the pins on the connector.
I get most of my pins from Mouser Electronics

Would you elaborate? How do you remove the pins?

small flat screwdriver is all you need. Like the pocket screw driver MAC tool truck gives out.

Remove the plastic cover over the wires. Then, the transparent colored cover over end of the pins, there is a tab at each end, press it in and the terminal cover will slide off. After that, there is a small what tab that holds each pin in place. Pull up on this tab, then lift slightly on pin, then push the pin inward some. It will pull right out after that.

good luck.

my pcm connectors have a push washer? capturing the center bolt from falling out of the pcm connector. Its holding the aluminum housing to the white plastic together so i cant get those pieces separated to get the wires removed. does anyone know any tricks to remove this piece?

thanks

You don't need to remove the bolt, just the little plasric covers

Correct, As long as you remove the colored cover, then you push in slightly on the pin then pry back lightly on the spring tab and pull the pin out.
