self tuning?????????????
What kind of tools would you need to self tune a ls1 after an engin rebuild? I dont really trust any of the tunners around hear and they all charge an arm and a leg. Would it be practical in any way to get the tools i need and tune the car with the help of a few car guys?

You'll need a tuning suite as mentioned above, a wideband O2 integrated into your tuning suite, a laptop to run everything on, and for gosh sakes get a power inverter so the laptop battery does not go out in the middle of a tuning run.
Then read, join the forum of your selected tuning suite provider and ask questions, and go slowly.
The initial outlay of $$ is not cheap and there are no shortcuts. But the end result is worth it if you take your time.

not sure what a y ban is or whatever else you said but hptuners uses USB to plug in to your OBDII port, its simple...and as mentioned, you will want a wideband setup as well which will run you a couple hundred more (but its WELL worth it) the power inverter is also a good suggestion, i cant count how many times we had to go back to the house and charge up the laptop when we were tuning, it was a hassle

You can download EFIlive and use it in demo mode to see if you think you're up to learning to tune.
