i had my car tuned and flashed to a4. when i put the car into R or D it dies. the idle would surge below its normal level then die. is that in the tune? i think it needs more air or fuel when it goes into R or D mode.

Are you using a stock A4 tune for the mods in your sig? If so, you will need a fair amount of tweaking to get all of the tables adjusted correctly. The A4 has two sets of idle airflow tables and spark tables specifically for "In Gear" and "Park/Neutral". The lower area of the VE table and Desired Idle rpm will need to be adjusted as well. Do you have a datalogger and do your own tuning? What torque converter is installed?

ss3600 yank. i am not using stock tables. this was really a ruff tune that my guy did, us knowing that it needed more work. everything was working fine until i tried to use it today. it dies 4 out of 5 times when i go into drive.

Did it idle okay with the A4 at one point and then start acting up or was it surging as soon as the new trans was installed? It's probably the tune, but you need to make sure it's a not mechanical problem first. Can you post a log or tune?

ill try on the log. when i put the new tranny in it idled fine because i turned it on in neutral, this was before any tune or flashing. obviously no codes would be thrown cause its not looking for an a4 tranny and its just in neutral. after we tuned it i was driving it. it ran fine and all. then after a couple of mins i turned it back on and i couldnt move it cause it would die in on d. i finally got it to not die and idle fine in drive and drove into my garage. we tuned more on the driving part, and the park settings. but never the D part. this will be up next. i guess

hey i just did the swap to and my pcm was reflashed but and my old tune laid in over it but the trans wont shift any ideas!!

is the transmission connection to the pcm connected?

yes the trans hows power in and out to all solenoids and when put in drive goes but its like the pcm wont let it shift out of gear

try to have your tuner shift it manually via the tuning program. see if that works, ididnt have that issue.

ok ill talk to him tomorrow this is really frustrating just dont get why it would be stuck in one gear its like its in fail safe mode
