Default HP Tuners question..

I'm trying to tune a friend of mine's car..the tune he needs is very similar to mine. I uploaded his tune and used the credits to where I can re-flash his PCM. I also uploaded my Tune out of my Camaro. I didn't use any credits for the one from my Car cause I don't need to do anything with it.

My question is can I copy the Tune Tables that he needs from mine over to his directly, or do I have to put in all the values individually..?

Thanks.

You should be able to copy them over given they have the same axes.

Well if one table is say 10X20 but the other is 12X22 then I believe the plural is axes http://wiki.answers.com/Q/What_is_the_plural_of_axis

ehhh...semantics.. It sounds the same, but spelled different. You must admit, reading it as 'axes' makes one assume it is describing an axe.

either way, the man's question still isn't answered..

I believe I answered it, you can copy over the differences as long as the axes are the same...takes about 20 seconds tops.

He means make sure the labelling in the collums and rows in the tables are the same (same total collums, same total rows, same units in the table, and same numbers in the collum and row labels), I think you should be ok, especially if both cars are the same model year.

Usually yes...there are always oddities though, sometimes HUGE oddities even of the same year/make/model

If its compatible it should be able to be just flashed straight in. Be weary though as there may be differences you aren't aware of. If you did want to go down that path I would recommend you do a compare in the VCM tuner and just review all the tables to make sure nothing stands out that could cause issue.

What year model PCMs are we talking about here and are both M6s? If there are differences between the OSs then you may have to copy just individual tables here and there to get what you need.

You can use the copy over differences feature in the vcm editor, literally takes about 20 seconds to copy over all the differences from one file to another. I create a demo showing exactly how to do it, its located in the demo's section of our forum.

I loaded a 2001 6 speed camaro operating system into my 2000 with no issues. Stupid secondary VE tables anyways
Not all of the tables were the same but I used the compare feature and copied all of the tables I could. I tuned the 2001 Camaro and it had a 408 stroker so I just reset everything back to my settings. Since I already had credits for my computer and his tune it cost me nothing extra.
