Default AFR question.

What is the highest afr you can have and your car actually drive around fine?
The reason I ask: My LC-1 shows I drive around and idle between 18:1 and 21:1 most of the time. At WOT, the gauge shows me coming down into the 13:1 range. I know my tune is wack, but surely my gauge cannot be accurate when reading these higher numbers...? (I'm running open loop maf btw)

The LC-1 might need the outputs reprogrammed and/or the sensor re-calibrated.
AFR that lean will give you all kinds of problems.
Is the sensor installed after the CATS?
Do you have a lot of surging and KR?

Dont run open loop unless you have a good WB and willing to tune all the time. Ait temp will change AFR. That is why the O2 sensors. Maf will not keep it in line all the time.
