Default Buying LS1Edit used..

Has anyone ever done this? If it is locked to one PCM or VIN, how can the new owner use it? I have been reading that they gave no phone number and I am a bit wary of buying a used version. How is the unit switched from one to the other?

Should I or shouldn't I?

Thank you for the link wrencher, interesting. I would be getting the LS1 Edit for $375, so it would end up being $525 total with another spot opened up by carputing. Could get a brand new one for $550, so is it worth the pain? Probably not...

I have contacted Carputing and Dave told me that they would add another VIN for $200. For $375 I think I'd buy a new one from Carputing.

i bought an interface module(black box) from another member here, it needed a VIN added
150 to add another VIN
50 for "handling fee"
50 for "transfer of ownership fee"
250 total.....that is what i just paid for....
you can add another VIN if you are not the original owner, just have to pay for them to edit thier logbook, kind of a rip-off....but.....

SO... if you pay 375 plus the 250.......equals 625
seems cheaper to buy it from carputing, unless you can talk them down to $100
