weird iat issue on h/c ls7
I have a heads/cam forged ls7 in my friends 1999 camaro and something weird is happening... when the IAT is UNPLUGGED the car runs great, the engine revs FAST the idle is awesome, when we plug back in the IAT, the car runs like ****, revs slow and bogs, the idle stumbles...
any ideas?

Brian, I thought when you unplug your IAT sensor it defaults to a very low reading (can't remember exact value, but well into the negative Celsius readings).
So your engine is fooled into putting in way more fuel than normal (colder IAT, denser air, etc.)
I would stick a wideband on it and see what the AFR's are. Not sure I would want to actually run it that way.
I would check some other sources along with other forum members, but I am pretty sure you don't want to stick with that default IAT value.

I know it's a necro-bump, but I didnt want to make a new thread for the same issue.
I have a 00' Trans Am I recently purchased that is having this same problem. The car was supposedly tuned on SD. With the IAT UNPLUGGED the car runs great, very responsive, perfect idle, snappy throttle etc. As soon as I plug in the IAT sensor the car starts running terrible, hardly idling, any throttle will kill it instantly. My buddy with EFILIVE did some digging in the tune and we have found that with the IAT unplugged it shows -32*C all the time. And with the IAT plugged in, the sensor is working properly reacting to hot and cold accordingly. Can anyone shed some light on what is causing the car to not run correctly with a properly working IAT plugged in??
