autotap ? cable dead. Any repairs/upgrade options

autotap ? cable dead. Any repairs/upgrade options I bought an autotap cable i guess off a member here a few months ago. Just got the laptops to try it on. it appears FUD.
Tested on 3 laptops (win me,win2k, winxp pro)
Tested on 99 ws6, 00 z28.
Set the com port, and tried autotap 1.10 (came with blue manual/cd) no module found. Yes i followed the directions.
Tried new autotap download, no dice.
Tried efilive download for shiz n giggles (demo mode), no dice.
This is a black cable with B&B ELEC as the only markings on it.
I know its been awhile so i'm probably SOL on the seller, but i wonder if theres a way to get B&B to check/repair/upgrade to cable obviously its old as dirt since its came with v1.10 software.
Anyone got any ideas?
Oddly when autotap was plugged in all the SES/OIL/ABS INOP/fuel gauge to empty happened.

I have a similar problem with my cable. Mine never worked. I just sent mine Fedex back to B&B today. I called then up and all they could tell me from my problem was maybe a bad module. I know they have a one year warrenty on their stuff. You can call them and see.

well im sure its dead. Maybe i'll just send it to autotap and ask for the $99 V2 upgrade. Obviously mines a V1 since it came with v1 software on disk. Sucks. To whoever sold it to me, shame on you. To me, shame on me for not testing it sooner.
