98 - Powerdyne - Tuning
I dont know if this question should go into Tuning or Forced induction so I'm listing it in general. Please move it if nessasary. But I hear there are many problems when trying to tune a 1998 F-body due to it being the first year with the new LS1 setup. So how difficult would it be to put a BD11a on a 98 z28 model camaro?

Also I hear there is a problem with rod bolts and it is possible to replace them without pulling the motor. Could someone provide some threads that talk about these issues?

if you wanna do anything switch the 98 pcm with a 99-02 and change the pinouts on the harness and it will plug back in. And no you can't you have to pull the motor and remove the pan remove the windage try and change out bolts that way. if you had a way to drop the k member and hold the motor up still and get the pan off you might be able to do it that way is the only other way i see doing it.

Depends on if you want to keep the MAF and how much boost you plan to run... not a problem running a blower on a 98 up to a certain point. If you want to go speed density, that's when you run into issues.

I hear it's not a real problem for an experenced shop to tune a 98, but it would probably be cheaper to get the 99+ model PCM and so it yourself. On the boost I have a BD11a with a 9psi pulley, but it never put out more than 8psi on my V6.
