Default Switching from 99 F-bod PCM to Truck's

Hey everyone, I am wondering if its at all possible to swap out my PCM from my 99 camaro to a 99 silverado 2500 so that I could use a 4L80 and not have to tune. Is it possible?

Do you have the same motor as the truck?
If not, no, not without tuning it

I dont have the same motor, I still have my stock ls1. What else would I need from the truck? Some specific connectors from the truck harness?

(Long story short, theres a 6.0 with 4L80, harness and PCM for sale and I dont need the engine.)

No, but it wouldn't be too hard to tune it... why not just do that?

Another thing - the harness isn't going to go directly in your car anyway... would be better to get one of the adapter harnesses that are out there. Forgot the company, but if you search the internet for a 4L60 to 4L80 swap harness, I'm sure you can find it...

you'd need to pull the tranny part of the harness and add it to your harness

The main goal is to not have to bring it to a tuner (which I may have to do regardless).

The route I want to take is to buy the 4L80 and harness from the trans to the pcm and add it to my camaro pcm. Or Buy the 6.0 pcm, harness and trans and possibly not have to tune it.

Let me know if im crazy

Are the truck computers the same as the f-body computers? I'm sure this has been covered before and there is probably a post explaining the differences somewhere. Any help?

If you didn't mind manually shifting a 4L80 there is a black box ad-on that turns the 4l80 into a manual shift. Just do a search for 4l80 transbrake, a guy that makes them also makes the black box deal.
