Default DBW throttle quits after flooring it

After I floor the gas pedal the throttle quits working. If I turn it off then start it back up it works again.
Anyone know what might be causing this?

something is hitting the blade could be the tube is too small or a maf way too close (if your using one) but check and make sure when the blade opens nothing touches it if anything touches the blade, it will stop working

I have seen that happen when a DBW setup for a 1MB PCM is used with a 512 KB PCM. Is that a possibility on your project.

The pcm should be the one that came with the motor. I don't know though bought it off ebay.

Q8-TECH, I'lll try what you said and see if that's whats wrong with it.
Edit: I moved the maf further away. I'll try it tomorrow. Its too loud with open headers this late .

I moved the the maf further it dint help. Somebody else had the same problem heres what he said: "I changed the tune to a newer version and the problem disappeared." I don't know how to do that though.
Also if i rev it in park it doesn't mess up, only when I floor it in gear. And my diablo sport says unsupported vehicle when I try to tune it, so maybe my computer isn't the one that came with the engine. My PCM was tuned before I bought it. IT has emissions and TM deleted off of it.

I've delt with this before. You don't have the right TAC module controlling the TB. They're not all the same. You need to find out what your PCM is from then check with the Dealer and see what the TAC part number for that vehicle is.

Are you scanning the car when it does this? When I first hooked up my 24x conversion a couple weeks ago, the throttle would work perfectly until I started the car and whacked the throttle. I could drive it around as long as I was REALLY easy and smooth with the pedal...up to about 13% TPS. Then the whole thing would shut down and the car would stall.

Turned out I was throwing a P1514 and needed to bump my Calculated Airflow vs TPS vs RPM table up a bit. I haven't had an issue since I doubled it.

Thanks guys. Mine throws the P1518 code and P0654. I'll try what you said kbracing96. I know my PCM is not the one that should have came with the motor.

I'm having the exact same problem. If I slightly press the accelerator pedal, the throttle will work but if I go past 80% the throttle body snaps closed and will not move again until the battery is unhooked and then hooked back up. My engine is a 2003 6.0, but to get my A/C to work, my tuner switched to a 411 PCM. The throttle worked fine with the original PCM. Is this something that is easily fixed in the tune? Or is it a TAC module problem? Anybody know?

If I'm not mistaken, 2003 was the first year for the 1MB PCM with the Green/Blue connectors. The 12200411 PCM with the Red/Blue connectors is a 512KB PCM. A 512KB DBW setup is not compatible with a 1MB PCM and vice/versa.

It was a green/blue, I had to change the green to red. I'm going to try an older TAC module and hope that fixes it.

0411 PCMs are blue/red, but we knew what you meant

When I was fabbing my system up, I scored a pedal, harness and TAC out of a 6.0L Silverado (I think 2003) to try for free. I didn't find any way to use it with my 2003 Corvette calibration and 2002 Corvette solenoid which is quite different from what you are using...that looks exactly like the system on my 2005 5.3L Tahoe.

The first problem was the TPS signals were all screwed up. Just sitting on the bench with power, the TPS was at 100% with the throttle blade closed and went down to 66% and then back up to 100% as I opened the blade with my finger. Quite a bit of trial and error (repinning different combinations of the 6 TPS wires) finally got the signals to be sane, but I was never able to get the TAC to open the throttle reliably without crashing. Move the pedal 'just' a little too quickly, and the whole system would shut down requiring a power cycle.

Bought a 2002 Corvette TAC and pedal, wired the harness back to the Corvette schematic and everything worked perfectly. Somewhere, someone knows what pedals, TACs, throttlebodies and calibrations are compatible, but I don't have a good handle on it and haven't seen a matrix. That info would be golden for those of us that are not working on production cars.

These are the numbers on my PCM does anyone know what TAC module is the right one for it. My PCM has the blue/green connections. I am going to go by a chevy dealer tomorrow and ask.

I think the 12576106 PCM is for the 03-04 trucks, so that should have a 12588923 TAC Module.

Thanks, the number on mine is 12590008. The motor is an 05 5.3l though. I may have been given a different year of PCM for my motor.
