Default How to check if coils are firing?

Have new motor in car but cant get it to crank. Good fuel pressure (wonder if injectors are opening?) Checked power and grounds, all good. Squirted a little gas in the intake still not a sputter or anything, which makes me think no fire.

So it does crank, but it won't fire up is what you're saying??

Put a spark tester in the end of one of the wires and crank the engine over. If you're getting spark you'll see the arc across the spark tester indicating that cylinder is getting a source of ignition.

Yes that's what I'm saying...I don't have a spark tester per say; will a spark plug in the lead do the same thing?

you can do the spark plug in the lead of the wire. Or pull the spark plug wire off the coil and turn the motor over. The spark will jump to ground or to the wire.
