Default ECM Reflash questions.

Hello,

I am transplanting an LS1 from a wrecked 2000 Camaro into a 1946 Chevy truck streetrod project. I bought a Painless Performance complete chassis harnass which intergrates the LS1/4L60E into the wiring. With the harnass purchase came a ECM reflash from Painless. There are some questions on the reflash form that I can't answer. First, they want to know what thermostat I am using along with the fan on/off temps that I would like. What would be a good thermostat temp to use and what should the fan on/off temps be? Also, they want to know what DTC codes that I want deleted. I know about the rear O2 sensors and the security, but what other codes should I have deleted? If you know of anything else that I should be aware of feel free to let me know.

Thanks, Al.

You can send the PCM to me and I can load a base tune in it. Or take a drive here, it's not really that far.

I live in the one in south central PA near Gettysburg. The reflash from painless is part of the price of the harnass that I bought, so that is why I'm sending it there. Al.

If they know what they are doing, you shouldn't have to tell them which codes to delete (assuming you provide setup details).

Yea, I know what Dennis's (Painless) deal is, that's a nice harness, but pricey. You had to live at the one furthest from me. Closest to Mickey, though. If you're not sure, which DTC's to turn off, just let them on, and if they light the light, I'll stop by sometime and turned them off, for free for you. I'll end change you fans temps if they cycle too often or it runs too hot. Of course I'll bust on Dennis next time I see him. I get down that way every so often. I try to get to the Renne faire at least once a year and I like going to the Rod show at York. Most of the guys i do swap PCMs for use 180 on 175 off for fan #1 and 185 on and 180 off for fan#2 If you're looking for the real tune later, I've not heard anything but good things about Mickey

By setup details, I assume you mean tire size, rearend ratio, idle RPM etc. Yes, I have provided these. At the bottom of the form, they have a space to "List all other DTC deletes". That is my basic question. Al.

Personally I like 180's some places have 184 or 186's instead. Gen3's are fairly cool running motors, compared to a 1st gen, but I don't think I'd go below a 180 By the way most factory stats that I've pulled were 195

OK Joe, so if I go with the 180 thermostat, I should have the fan on/off at 180/175 right? Thanks for your help, Al.

That what it seems most of the swaps guys I did PCM's for, with are doing, so I'd go with it. Seriously if you have some DTC or setting issues that need to be addressed, later on, I'll stop past
