02 Sensor appearance
Is there a certain way a properly working 02 sensor should appear?
AI figured since a sparkplug that is working properly will have a tan appearance and one that is black and sooty is running rich. That this might also apply to 02 sensors? Is that the case?
I pulled my 02 sensors while doign some exhaust work (*cough* gutting cats *cough*) and all four of them are black and sooty.
I do not have A-Tap or any sort of diagnostic tool. I always have an SES light due to EGR removal. AIR pump has been removed as well.
Sorry if this seems stupid. I did search under 02 Sensor for this information.
thanks

I've never seen an O2 sensor that's been used that wasn't black. I'd guess it's normal....
