Default Noob PCM Question

I am looking into making a 1999 corvette wiring harness stand alone and have found a computer, however I have not done any tuning before and am wondering have a few questions. The pcm is from a 1999 camaro. From what I have researched as long as it is the red and blue connectors like the corvette you can use it, so this one should work as far as that goes however if want to keep dbw will need new program. I mostlikely will be converting to dbc, however as far as tuning do I have to know the vin it came from in order to get HPtuners to unlock and tune this, it will be swapped into a CJ7 jeep. Any other specific information that I will have to know about the previous vehicle etc in order to make everything work?

The program will pull the vin from the PCM. What year CJ? Will you have to pass a inspection?

I am unsure on what will have to be done to convert the harness for the pcm, but the programmer will read the vin off of the pcm. You won't have to worry about a mismatching vin in a '85 either.
