Yes, I would get a good tune with a wideband... that's the only way to do it right.

A "backyard tune" using the right tools is always better than some guy spending 20 minutes on a dyno with it.

Before you go any further, make sure your front O2 sensors are new, your plugs and wires are new, your MAF is clean, and that all your filters(fuel, oil, air) are fresh. The worst thing you can do is try to tune a vehicle with worn out/dirty sensors

It kind of depends on the "pro" and what you want out of it.
Getting the right WOT AFR and spark, that's straightforward
enough (presuming your setup isn't sloshing all over the place,
to the point of fresh sensors etc.).

But drivability, making it run best across -all- environmentals
(not just on the rollers, one day), etc. takes way more shop
time than you would want to pay for, so you're better off
with the tools than renting the talent (and knowing the real
talent, from just another guy who bought a setup, is not so
easy; even referrals, there's too much out there).

Of course developing your own talent takes effort and some
luck in the "learning from mistakes" department (best to learn
from others').
