P0480 Fan error... out of ideas
Hey, if anyone can shed some ideas for me I'd really appreciate it! I have a 2000 T/A with a stock cooling system, and just threw a P0480 code. So far I've eliminated the fan motor, the relay, the ECT, and the coolant levels. The switch by the fan is not getting any voltage, nor is the relay. The PCM seems like it is not commanding the fan to come on at all, any ideas on what can be wrong? I do not have a scan tool to help me along further so now I'm stumped. I might have to wire in a manual switch to turn the fan on just to use the car until I can figure out what to do..... thanks for any input!

Both fan requests are just grounds. Find the low speed and the high speed and test them to a ground with the ignition on. If the fans come on then you know it is the pcm but I would think it was one of the fuses like the previous post suggests.

When did you install the manual fan switch.
Disconnect C100 (the 10 pin metricpack connector closest to the battery on the passenger side shock tower. Check ground pin H is the high speed pin J is the low speed fan.
What manual fan switch do you have, and how is it wired, if you just ground these circuits you will get these codes. you need to put logic to prevent the codes, but if you do it like slp does and you have a relay fail, you will never get a ses light.
