Stock PCM w/ EFI Live vs AEM EMS
I have a toss up at the moment and am having trouble deciding between the two.
Here are the two options:
Stock PCM - $100
EFI Live V2 - $799
Comes out to 900 on the rough.
AEM Stand Alone - $999
Would it be worth going with the AEM over the Stock PCM/EFI Live? Considering they're roughly the same price? Tunability? Drivability?
My setup will be:
Stock 5.3 Engine (stock intake manifold, cam, heads)
Good valve springs
Flipped Manifolds
Big turbo
TH-400 (I don't really plan on running an electric tranny)
All in a '79 Fairmont. Down the line everything will get bigger (6.0 if I find one, maybe forged internals here and there, ported heads, cam, etc.)

Im going to bump this thread. Looking into the same thing, either 800 for efilive and 2 VINS or 1k for plug in aem. Any pro's or cons to either? This is for a boosted setup also

Well a few things I see as Pros to AEM, is the internal boost, nitrous, meth etc. control. Also built in Launch Control/2 Step. I'm sure it also datalogs at a higher resolution than a stock computer.
But a few pros for the stock computer, is stock drivability. Also control for automatic transmissions (4l60/80e) More knowledge base would be a pro as well.
