Default Chicago Area Tuner Search

I'm searching for a Chicago area Tuner. I'm setting up to change the camshaft in my 1999 Camaro SS LS1 to a Comp Cams XR275HR (as recommended by Comp Cams) and will need a new tune. I'd like to get this done in the area since it will probably run poorly until properly tuned and I don't want to drive it very far to get this done.

Any help out there would certainly be appreciated!
JT

Do a search on Straightline Performance in New Lenox, IL. It's about 45 minutes away from the Southside of Chicago.

With jus' a SLP lid and exhaust cutout, my 02 put down 342/360 on his Mustang Dyno. Mike is a great tuner.

Nation-wide, they have a "good rep" but locally, Speed Inc has a bad reputation around here. Most of the locals are hitting Straightline or FLP.

Thanks for the suggestions! I'm gonna shop them all and see what they offer and how they treat me. I am definitely going to need a custom tune after this cam change so having some options is great!
Thanks again,
JT

Definitely lots of options:

Speed Inc: Schaumburg
Straightline Performance: New Lenox
Finish Line Performance: Naperville
AES Racing: North Side ( I believe by O'hare)
Modern Muscle: Oswego

I'm probably forgetting 1 or 2.

I have already contacted AES Racing and they had some interesting suggestions. First off, they have a custom cam grind to offer that is of the same design as Comp's but with some tweaks, AND they sell the same gear cheaper than Comp Cams!

I also noted some folks suggesting Straightline Performance for the tune, and so did AES. I'm going to call Straightline and see what kind of arrangement we can come to. I'd really like a before and after dyno, and I'd like to have a "boxed" tune for right after the install before I get to Straightline for a real tune on the dyno. Gotta drive it there somehow...

Tomorrow is day 21 out of 22 for working the last 3 weeks so hopefully I'll get to take my days off Wed and Thurs and get in touch with these guys. Maybe a drive down to their shop and check them out. Nothing like a nose around the shop and some face to face talk to get an idea of how they work.

I'll keep you all posted with what I come up with and Thanks a lot for the input. It's helped a great deal.
JT
