Default Oil change light? Oil's new

OIk guys so just changed my oil 250 miles ago, do it every 3-3500k with mobil 10-30 syn including new filter also every time. Took my car out tonight and oil change light on dash comes on goes off after about 40 sec and stays off. Does it each time i start the car which has been maybe four times and stays on the same about 40 seconds each time then off and stays off, any ideas on what it could be i doubt the oil is bad after 250 miles

Hold the odometer reset button down for 12 seconds or
so and wait for the light to flash. You're done. Car doesn't
know it got changed unless you tell it.

This info is in the owner's manual.

Key on, engine off, hold it in. I just did this last week.

If the odo doesn't reset then maybe you have a switch
problem. Other than that, the method is the method.

I can say the Odometer switch works for me also the method frost stated is the one i used to use back in highschool when i was working in a mechanics shop.
