Default how to tune a MAF car????

ok all i have tuned is turbo cars in SD... now im trying to figure this MAF out.
The number in the MAF table ....AF vs. freq.... what does it do? to richen it up do you increase/decrease this number?
My WB is hooked up and idle is fine, cruise is fine, but as soon as you get into the converter about 4000 rpms it leans out bad. goes from about 13.00 to 15.8 afr.

Car is n/a, LS1, ported heads/cam car, 4500 stall.. starting from scratch with some random stock tune.

Not sure which tuning software you are using, but with EFILive, you use a map of the MAF BEN factor to find the correction needed to bring the actual AFR to meet the desired AFR... And, raising the gms/second richens the mixture...

Sorry... I posted that from his house under his name. Using HP Tuners. I havnt messed with a MAF in like 4 years.. The MAF table says "air flow vs. frequency". It doesnt tell you what changing the number does.

I got the VE table really decent. Car hits hard on initial punching the gas, and then fades out to lean. I gave up for the night.........lol.

Works for me. Its just a PDF file.

http://ls1tuningguide.com/tuninghelpfiles.php and click "Free LS1 Gen III Tuning Guide" and it should download.

....Im still not finding any info on how the MAF values work... what do they do? Increase/decrease the value will have what affect? Lean/rich?

I read it, I dont have EFI live and I do not recognize anything you said in that post.

I am not following you at all here. My MAF table says "Air flow vs. Frequency". Im not sure what "MAF BEN", gms/second" are. I dont have HP tuners in front of me here at work, but if they are a separate table then what your saying is I dont even touch the MAF - AF vs, Freq. table at all?

I printed out the directions form that PDF posted above. Its obvious how to do it..(besides the copy data from histogram and paste special????). Just no answer which way to change the calibration to do what though.

Increasing the airflow at a certain frequency will make it richer???? correct? thats all im looking for.

Reason I ask is I messed with it and Ive had a long suspicion the car has a fuel system problem. I'd like to double check and make sure what im doing is actually adding fuel.

Yes, increasing the airflow at a certain frequency will make it richer (grams/sec is airflow units).

If you suspect a fuel system problem, put a pressure gage on the fuel rail and see if it drops under load... you need to rule that out before tuning!
