Please HELP!! No Start, No Gauges, No Fuel Prime! Ok I'm in need of help badly on this one.
Here's the scenario. When the key is turned to the run position the gauge cluster does not light up or function. The fuel pump does not prime. all lights accessories and turn signals work. When the key is shifted to crank I get nothing at all.
In exception i was able to turn the key into just the right position a couple times the dash would begin to function, fuel pump primes and if I was lucky the engine would turn over and fire but immediately die as soon as the key was released.
I have checked all the fuses in the dash panel and in the under hood fuse/relay box and they all check out good.
97 3.8l A4 with 128k if that info helps.
Also this all happened after a 300mile round trip. that went without incident. i parked for about 10min at my buddies house and when i went to leave this happened.
