Default car will not rev past 2000 unless i ground 32+34

i have a 02 ls1/t56 swap in a 89 vette i just completed and cannot get the car to rev up.

computer is from a 02 camaro A4 . modified harness.

the car will only rev to 2000 rpms unless i ground pins 32(clutch pedal position) and 34(neutral safety switch) on the blue connector. when grounded the motor runs and revs as it should. is it harmful to the pcm to just install wire leads into both pins and ground them to the body? or is this something that needs to be flashed out of the pcm. hope this is clear as i have no understanding of the ls1 pcms.

thanks, Matt
