LS3 Engine with 4L80E? Doing a swap for a Customer, he bought a 08 LS3 Crate Engine and would like to use a 4L80E Trans, Painless Harness that he will most likely be buying is for a 4L60E... Any way to run a 4L80E?

the 80 plug is on the opposite side of the trans and further back... with an OEM harness it would be a problem, not sure about the painless harness though... and you still need to add a VSS cable or relay and wiring, depending on which way you go.

The real question is what kind of vehicle/ecm and if necessary tcm, is going to be used?
LS1 pcm will work
E40/TM42 will work
E38 and up will have issues.

I would love to hear more. I am looking at doing a swap in the future with this particular computer and tranny combo, and I would like to know which particular application (model year) , TCM and ECM were used.
