I had the O2s replaced with the vette O2s back in oct when the long tubes were installed, but I have noticed about 4 times in the last 2 days a slight drop in rpm down to around 500 and back up to 1000 after a rev of the engine. Ia it web possible that they could be dead already?

Even if you tune them out. The heater cant stay hot enough and will burn out just as you have experenced.
I would try to wrap your headers or get them coated to help hold in the heat to aid in the 02 heaters staying at temp.

I wonder why two of my own vehicles never experienced that? Kinda odd. Not doubting, just find it odd that simply turning the code OFF has eliminated the issue. By the way, my truck has stock, replacement sensors. Car had the rear Corvette sensors only due to length of harness. They didn't act any differently. SLOW, according to datalogs, just like my truck.

You can turn off the code. But if the 02 cant read the exhaust stream properly you are going to have issues with fueling. The main purpose of the 02 is to tell the pcm what is going on with the fueling.
How many frames are you logging?

I know full well what the sensors job is, been doing this automotive crap for a living for 29+ years, that's why I find it odd that MOST people simply turn off the code and never have a problem, yet some do. Kinda whacky, isn't it?

The only time I have ever fouled out an O2 sensor was with leaded gas. Then and only then have I gotten the crappy idle, crappy low rpm driveability problems like some have described above.

I have no clue about how many frames I log, but can say that I always log a minimum of 30 minutes, which is plenty enough time for me to see what's happening in any situation the car/truck is running in...

Is there another thread about long tube headers and O2 sensors? And, anyone have the part number for the Corvette O2 sensors mentioned in this thread? Or, is there a way to identify what I have in mine?

Al 95 Z28, long tube headers and bogus O2 readings.
