Default Move to megasquirt?

I am nearly finished building my turbo LQ4. Everything is removed but the alternator. No air pump, blocked off IAC, manual valve body, etc. Bare bones.

I have only spent $1700 on the motor so far and it would be a shame to spend $500+ on tuning software/cables to get this motor running. What should i do?

I've done quite a few of each. I love MS, but in all reality if you already have the harness/computer the ls setup is more than capable of handling your car. By the time you figure in harness and wiring etc you will spend about the same on MS, and only have a setup for 1 car instead of 4 like with HP tuners.

MS does add lots of nice features for free though. Low imp injectors, two step, nitrous/boost controller, etc etc. I generally say ms for lt1 or anything older, newer make the stock stuff work.
