Default P0443 and P0449 Error Codes

Took the car out to a car meet and back and threw these codes.

I looked up the codes which show they are for the fuel evap solenoid.

I haven't touched the solenoid or worked on anything in that area. I checked wiring and connections; everything looks good.

Can the solenoid be removed and capped off and deleted in the PCM? Since I swapped out to a FAST 102, the solenoid doesn't have anywhere to mount to like it did on the OEM intake so it really looks out of place.

I continued to research this on tech and saw some replies that it is highly recommended to not remove this unless you can vent the gas tank elsewhere.

I called my GM dealership and they have the part for only 23$. For that price I might as well just replace it and see if it clears the problem. I'll keep the thread updated.

i live in a farm community, and i see those codes fairly often; it is pretty common for dirt to build up and keep the solenoid from opening and closing on command. we see those, find the solenoid and shake to see if dirt comes out.

THanks for the tip bro. Well I switched out the solenoid and unhooked battery to do battery relocation. A few miles down the road and I threw the codes again

Any suggestions?
