Engine Races to 3500 RPM Upon Start
I have purchased a 2002 Camaro LS1 that "races" to 3200-3500 RPM upon start and varies RPM over that range. The engine will not go to idle.
Not really knowing what I am doing I replace the IAC motor and TPS sensors on the throttle plate with known good items from another 2002 LS1 Camaro. No change.
The throttle plate looks OK. When you manually move the throttle plate with the car running the RPM increases the more you turn and then tries a little to come back to 3500 RPM.
Any ideas? I am lost here.

vacuum leak? That would be my first guess, and if it goes up that high, my guess it would be visually obvious.
other than that, i would think it is in the tune, like maybe someone unmodded the car, but didn't retune it.
if not either of those, I have no clue.

I thought of a vacuum leak and sprayed some WD40 looking for the leak and found nothing so far. The car is completely stock as far as engine/transmission and computer.

check all of your grounds my friends car did this and it ended up being a ground the one by the battery that hooks to the frame just move wires around in that area and see if it revs it up or changes anything at all
