Code 42 with MSD on LT1

Code 42 with MSD on LT1 Have a new to me 95 Z28. I'm getting a code 42, bad ignition control circuit. Car has a 6AL MSD box and a MSD coil. Is this normal or do I need to start looking for a problem?
It's rich as hell and showing a lean code, 44. I'm assuming I have an O2 sensor or wiring problem. Just more fun....
