Default 98 pcm

Would the 98 pcm be a problem with a mild build such as a stock cubic inch LS1 with, 10.8 CR ls6 heads and cam, 2002 manifolds and converters 342 gears and 4000 stall converter? Is the 98 PCM just hard to tune or inferior to the later models?

Its just more aggravating to tune. It seems to work about as good as the later ones. I've never had a problem with mine
