Default HP Tuners question

When tunning with HP tuners you are requiered to enter the vehicles VIN#. How does this effect the situation if you have say a 98 model car with a 99+ model PCM?

You will not be able to put the 98 VIN in the 99 pcm with HP tuners

You have to use a later VIN. Or if you have to keep your VIN sell your HPTuners and buy EFI LIVE, it doesn't care about VIN's and you can stick what ever OS/VIN combo you want in there
