Default charging question.

Does the computer control alt output in a 2002 Camaro? I know this is a strange question, but I am very interested. I just got the AC fixed about the same time it got really hot here in Oklahoma. The car goes real lean when I let off the fuel and coast, but it jumps back up and goes back to 14.7 or so. When at a stop with the ac on in gear, the RPM drop as the AFR goes to 17.0... It stumbles and then jumps back to life for a few seconds before starting to stall again. If I put it in N while stoped theing get better. With this in mind I decided to log the Bat volt in EFILIve. right after start the volts are a little above 13v, after driving for a while the volts hold around 12.6v regardless of RPM. The car always starts and never seem to be loosing power until the RPM drop under 800 or so. Then the Volts dropinto the lower 12v. Does this sound right? I thought the volts should stay around 13.5 or 14 all the time?

Decent cam, big heads, 383 NA using COS3, mafless.

Thanks for your help.
