Please help asap!
my car is currently strapped to a dyno.. the guy tuning it cannot get the thing to idle. he is using hp tuners. if he commands the iac full open it still starts and stalls.. he tried commanding it to 2500 rpm idle and still starts and stalls.. it only stays running if you keep your foot on the gas. now for the wierd part, i pulled the iac out and its working just fine... so we started the car with the iac out and my thumb over the hole and with it holding at a 1000 rpms i slowly took my thumb away and nothing changes!
wouldnt you think that letting all that extra air in would make it rev way up?
we are completely stumped.. i dont even know where to go with this

So did it idle before the tuner touched it??
Have you tried increasing your idle airflow tables any to get it started and to continue running?
Have you tried starting the car the IAC disconnected?
MAF or SD?

Try increasing the idle airflow, and check the IAC counts and report back. You should set the IAC in the scanner to around 80 counts warm with the set screw.
This will give your IAC room to provide additional airflow.

Yea, if the maf is extremely skewed from a new maf then it wont run. He needs to increase or decrease air and see which one makes a difference and work towards the right direction from there.

I actully went with rick to the dyno. In the end we drilled the hole bigger in the trottle blade and that in turn got the iac counts down to where the "tuner" could control it.
Long story short; The "tuner" asked us what to set the timing to lol, he wanted to set the rev limiter @ 6000. We told him to pull it to 6800 and set the rev limiter to 7100.
This was on a mustang dyno and (get ready) only made 325 rwhp haha. As you can see from ricks sig, its a 418 forged bottom end, cnc'd ls3 heads,ls3 intake, vindicator cam, 92mm tb and lid, and true dauls.
What do you guys think this combo should make? Cuz his dyno cannot be calibraited or some ****. I drove the car back from the dyno and will say it will lay it down 3 gears from a dead stop. So there isnt no what its only 325 rwhp.
In the end the car is back there because it would not idle on a cold start. This guy has like 2 days in this car minus the time its there now. And rick is out 400 bucks and his time. And honestly it runs the same as the day we took it there. On the dyno the a/r was 11.3-11.5 @ wot and he set timing @ 30*
