swapping PCM's
I am in the process of going from an 01 3.8L camaro to an LS2 and I will be using an fbody LS1 PCM/harness. Someone pm'd me the statement below and I was wondering if it was true and what is the easiest way to get around to it without having to buy EFI live or HP Tuners.
"You will have to register the new PCM with hp tuners or EFI live with the current o/s on your car. if you try to put a pcm with a different vin in the car with vats it won't start."

if this is true, id really like to just send my PCM in and get my vin code on it so the car will start. I am getting a dyno right away so I just need it to start.
