Default why PO327 after a Tune? this seems to happen alot

ive never gotten a code from this car in the 3 years ive owned it.

I removed the EGR and Air, changed plugs and wires and while i was at it i shipped my PCM to FROST to have him tune and remove the air, egr and rear O2's so my PCM was never ran to noticed the stuff removed.

after 83 miles of driving my SES light came on and stayed on.....within 3 miles i took it to AZ and pulled the PO327 code from the PCM and had it removed as well.

WHY?

all of a sudden?

I did some research and a lot of people have had this code after a tune....

i have not removed the intake or anything.....no wires have been pinched.....all i did was what i have posted.

so whats up?

STEVE? any input?

It seems to happen after a tune because many people with 98-00 F-bodies swap to an LS6 intake and do a tune at the same time. The swapping of the intake leads to a knock sensor code from one or both unit's failure or a failure of their connection. 0327 is a KS low voltage code. Either the sensor is failed open or it's associated cabling.

When I have this happen, I usually replace both knock sensors and pigtails so that I only have to pull the intake once.

Buddy's 00 got this code after an LS6 swap also. We replaced one sensor, it went away then came back about 6 months later.

Either way, the reason for the code is the same.

While it's set, and possibly even if the light is not on, you will lose max allowed KR (which is at it's OEM 4 deg value) the whole time that the car is in heavy fueling. It will cost you some power that you will most likely feel.

well after 250 miles....still no SES light.

So what your saying is even if i dont have a SES light "on" throwing that code...i am still suffer from the same problem???

and all this after a mail order tune? and without doing an intake swap?

i dont get it?!

ive never had a single problem form this car as far as i know...NO SES light.

so whats the SES light for if you can have a problem like that without it lite?
