Default 5.3 70 nova wiring ?'s

have a 2003 5.3 and going to use a harness out of a 06 tahoe. Wanting to run cable pull throttle body. Is there any reason that it would cause problems switching. Also any helpfull tips would be nice. Dont know much on the 2 or 3 pin mas stuff. Which is better so forth.
thanks

It's easier to use a DBW throttle instead of a drive by cable. Reasons?

* Your PCM may not have the electronic drivers to control the IAC. It won't matter how much tuning you do or what operating system you flash into it, it just can't do the job. You'll need another PCM suitable for DBC. The only way to know is by opening it.

* You need to modify the harness, because the one from the 06 Tahoe is for DBW and doesn't have the plugs to hook the IAC and TPS.

* You need to find an operating system to flash you PCM, suitable for DBC and 5.3L engine with automatic trans.

It can be done (I have done it) but it's a lot easier using the electronic throttle, TAC module and pedal assembly. There's nothing wrong with the electronic throttle. I have tuned turbo cars with 5.3L and electronic throttle. No problems so far.

If you choose to re-pin your 06 Tahoe harness to configure it for drive-by-cable, then you just need to find a wiring diagram of the 06 Tahoe harness and a diagram for a similar generation vehicle that is drive-by-cable. Add the IAC and TPS pigtails according to the DBC wiring diagram. Then like it was mentioned above - hope your ECM has an IAC driver.
