Default Quick Question on Tune for Lq9 S10 Blazer

Hi Guys,

My Build:

1989 S10 Blazer 2 Dr.
2002 LQ9 with 799 Heads and LS2 Cam, Basically an LS2 with Iron Block
LS6 Intake with stock Corvette 1999 Injectors
99 F Body manifolds, with dual exhaust through X Pipe, no headers for now
4L80 Trans 2002 Chev. Van
Ford 8.8 Rear 3.73
Computer is 1999 Corvette with T56, Blue and Red connecters, bought a Harness from PSI Conversions nice piece by the way.

Can I use the stock 1999 Corvette tune to run the motor, and how do I go about adding the 4L80 trans and losing Vats. Going forward I think I will buy HP tuner but to get this project up and running what do you guys suggest I do.

Thanks
John

Send the pcm to Frost and let him get you a tune that will get the truck up and running. Then tune the motor from there with your HP Tuners.

Using a professional is obviously the easiest way. However, disabling VATS is very easy to do with HPT, and the car should start and run with the stock program, but it'll need to be tweaked once you verify everything is working as it should.

You'll want to find some 4L80e shift tables from a vehicle that uses one from the factory and modify those values to your liking. The different gearing will make it shift funny with the vette gearing. I'm assuming you'll use the vette MAF?

Thnx, yea everything is from Vette, 5 wire MAF. TAC Module gas pedal and all sensors. Trans. is from a Van with 4.8. So who is Frost let me search and see. leaving her stock for now, its a real pain to get headers inside the rail for S10 so before I go sticking cam and stall figured leave it stock till I come up with something I like. So looking at a stock tune and just adding 4L80. gear and tire lose Vats.

Thnx

We can do a startup tune with all of the correct segments and settings or we can do a tune that is nailed down. That tune includes a lot more support from us.
