What rpm and mph should I set the shift points in HP Tuners based on dyno graph?

I think you really need to know where your rpm falls to after a shift.

I would take it to the track and start at 6500rpm and move up 100 rpm each pass until it stops gaining mph.

What year is the engine? What rod bolts? If it's an earlier one with the stock rod bolts I would keep it under 6700rpm or so personally. Which means you might have to set them to 6300 to keep off the limiter...even if the car would be faster with more rpm.

Your shift extension is likely about 4600-4800 rpm with that converter.....I'd say 6500. That will put it right back in the meat of the torque curve. Most people shift around 10% past peak hp, but with a looser converter that has a good shift extension, that much rev is not needed.

Question is, why over 7 pulls did they lose so much of your bottom end and mid-range? Sure, they gained peak, but lost a bunch under the curve... I would question that tune.

I would shift at about 6300-6400, which I have done with a 224/224 cam and it was good. It wasn't making power but it was still holding it, just like your graph shows. RPM drop should be about 12/1300. So you should fall back to about 5k or so after shifts.

yea I would just be safe and shift it no higher than 6400. Even if you could move it up to 6700+ I dont think you would gain much at all.

You make a good point. If it were mine I would want to know why I couldn't leave with the blue tune.

Those couple HP up top would be much less noticeable than the huge losses down low.

engine getting warmer, not getting enough time to cool down. My opinion
