I assume you are a member of the efilive forums yes? There are tons of guys over there that can probably help with this. Have you configured the handheld device correctly? You've selected the correct PIDS in Efilive as well right? Did you hook up the red L.E.D. status light for the LC1 to show if there are errors or not? What about connecting the LC-1 to a laptop and using the LC-1 software to communicate with it just to make sure it's not efilive?? Lastly, you've properly plugged the other connection for the LC-1 right? Hopefully these questions make sense, lol.

Also, in addition to waht edwardz said:
- are you using a null modem serial comms cable (or join two cables using a null modem adapter)...?
- did you plug the serial comms cable into SERIAL OUT on the LC-1...?
- did you plug the terminator into SERIAL IN on the LC-1 (as edwardz said)...?

Also, you have to download/install the latest V7/V8 software, and you have to update the V2 firmware to the latest version.

Why don't you post this on the EFILive forum, it has all the info you need for all of this.

There is a comm in and a comm out cables. Based on above the cable with the telephone type jack (to connect to V2) goes to comm out. Could you explain what this is?

"did you plug the terminator into SERIAL IN on the LC-1"

thanks

The LC-1's has two serial cables, they are labelled SERIAL IN and SERIAL OUT;

The V2 connects to the SERIAL OUT (via a null modem adapter joining LC-1's serial DB9 cable to V2's serial DB9 cable).

The LC-1 comes with a terminator plug that looks like a blank 2.5mm stereo jack... this goes into the SERIAL IN.

Like this:

SERIAL IN <- 2.5mm stereo terminator
SERIAL OUT -> serial cable -> DB9 null modem adapter -> serial cable -> FlashScan V2

NO... that is for analog connection, that is not applicable to serial comms connection.

Also, install V8 software build 170, flash the latest firmware into your V2;

then run the V8 Scan&Tune software, goto F6:Devices, goto F8:Serial I/O, and setup as shown:

It is strongly recommended to install software V7 build 180 and V8 build 170 (available from the downloads page on the efilive website (not the forum)) (you need both);

V8 comes with bootblock and firmware, flash these in.

Like I said, you would do well to post this on the efilive forum, it has all been covered.

Then, for tuning, you would use the calc pid WO2BEN from the attached calc_pids.txt file
which you copy to the folder My Documents\EFILive\V7.5\User Configuration.
Attached Files
File Type: txt
calc_pids.txt (3.5 KB, 209 views)

Default Important...

Are you plugging the 2.5mm stereo jack terminator plug (came with the LC-1) into the LC-1 cable labelled SERIAL IN...?

Thanks again for the help. I think my problem was the terminator plug. It's sort of working now but I want to do the free air calibration again. It's flashing free air. I'm lost when it comes to the text file. Is that a file created in the EFI Live program and those are values to put in the document once it's created?

Copy that file to the folder mentioned in post #12... then when you open the scantool the pid EXT.WO2BEN will be there.

[ If you have Windows 7 then that folder will be in a slightly different location ]

If V2 is flashing Free Air, then it sees the LC-1.

From V2 you can command the LC-1 to do free air calibration.

Did you already do heater calibration...?

The terminator plug is hard/tight to plug in... put some vaseline on the end of it, it will be easier to plug in.
