Default Has anyone reflashed an entire PCM from EFI live 1 bar

I've got a car that has a EFI Live 1 bar OS, HPT cant read it. Has anyone been able to rewrite the entire PCM with a new file from scratch? I dont care if I have to start over on the entire tuneup, just looking to get it tuned.

I don't think the HPT will burn over it. Have someone with EFI live reburn a stock file into it.

It probably has a custom operating system in it which you won't be able to read, but if it hasn't been locked by the tuner you should be able to do a full reflash and start fresh.

If you have the unlimited license for that vehicle group you might be able to flash over it.

What I would do is go on TIS to find what operating systems are compatible with the vin currently in the pcm, then find that os in stock form if you have a file and slap the vin into that file then write entire.

Pretty sure it would work.

Phil,

After re-reading your post, if you can't read it it's tuner locked. Even with a COS HPT can still read it, you just can't open it.

I read and save it to HPT, my cable is unlimited, it said the OS was not compatible.

OK, then it is only a COS. You should be able to flash over it no problem.
