Misfire codes common with cam only car with no tune?

Misfire codes common with cam only car with no tune? Just got my car together with the tr230 cam and let my buddy monitor it with his hp tuners and kept throwing misfire codes. Is this just because of the cam and it not being tuned yet?

Anytime you upgrade with a big (bigger) cam it will throw misfire codes. It should not set off the cel but yes there will be a misfire on most or all cylinders.
