I have a question regarding start ups.
I installed an LS1 into my wife's Porsche. I used a 2003 truck harness and PCM. It started but dies in 2 seconds.

So I just had the PCM upgrade to LS1.
Engine starts for about 3 seconds and dies. All the time.
I placed my BMW LS1 idle control valve on it and it started faster but still dies after 3 seconds.

Where could I start looking?

Im hoping that VATS was disabled when the PCM was flashed from truck to LS1.
I will ask today.

So VATS will allow the engine to start but not run? I thought it would have dissable the start from the beginning!

vats will disable the starter in the bcm but since your swapped im assuming you did not use the bcm
and so it should still start and then vats will shut down pcm after running about 3sec

Vats cuts fuel in my experience. I changed a tune (LT1>LS1 swap) and left VATS set on "serial" instead of off. The engine would fire a couple cylinders then go completely dead but would run off starting fluid. I double checked the tune and turned vats to the off/none selection and she fired right up. It was a predictable fire then dead routine when vats was preventing the starts.

According to the tuner, Vats was not uploaded.

Does anybody have a 2003 truck wiring diagram?
I have a 2001 and 2005 but not one that matches my 2003 pcm.

Or at least the pin outs for the serial data.
Next week the tuner will hookup his laptop to find out where the problem is.

Both diagrams use pins 14-15 for data, but there is no wires there on my pcm.

We found out what it was! Tuner never flashed in VATS.

610 PCM can not be used on manual cable trottle bodies. Only on drive by wire TB's.
411 boxes are for manual TB's. We switched boxes and BINGO!

Porsche 928 w LS1 has started up and will be on the road as soon as we can get a plate on it.
