Default ***HELP*** Is this a bad maf?

Is my MAF crapping out or is this a symptom of another problem? The car lays down after the shift to 2nd, 3rd and 4th. It also makes an aweful sound and puts out some smoke.

I cleaned the old maf, same problem.

Cleaned and installed another used maf, same problem.

Tapped on the MAF and wiggled the connector while idling, no change in MAF Hz.

Backed out my Main VE table changes, same problem.

I guess tomorrow night I'll try running in speed density. If it still does it in SD, then I'll know its not a MAF problem.
