Default HP Tuner saying cable not connected!!!

Ok, I purchased the HP VCM Pro, I am by no means familiar with tunning. Anyway I have had it for 2weeks now, and after trying to install the drivers, and asking everyone if I did it right. My computer savy sister said I have it installed right, but when I try to scan the car, it says check the connection, the cable is not hooked up. Being I did a LQ4 swap into a 81TA, I was thinking The hareness my be missing something, so I hooked it to my 2007GMC Seierra, it says the same thing, OBII not pluged in, not connected! The screen comes up with all the things it reads, but its not showing. Also it say video import, do I have the drivers installed wrong? Im using a small laptop from Verizion, but also tried it with mywife laptop, and with my sisters. It said I need a 64bit operating system, and the little laptop is 32, but the drivers are 32 bit each. Is he fact that I put the CD in more than one laptop have anything to do with it? Why is it say cable dissconnected? Thanks for any help. Do I need to send it back?

With the cable plugged into the laptop check device manager if it has yellow
question marks by the two entries for the mvi pro right click on one of them
and select update driver. Select search cd rom drive and windows will find and install
it this will need to be done for both of them.

Ive did all the updates, and it says drivers are working properly. It shows something at the bottom of the page saying (import videos) I click on them, but it say videos cant run at the same time. Then it says that the cable is not connected. Check to see if OBII port is plugged in, and power is at the plug. Dissconnected! The green light is on the MPVI if I just plug in the OBII, or If I plug in the USB on the laptop. Why would it say cable not connected?

Are you using the Scanner to scan the car or the Editor to read the PCM? It does sound odd that it asks to import videos. Does it do that on the other 2 laptops that you used? I've had mine on 4 different laptops and 2 were not 64 bit, no problems on any of them.

A screenshot of the error would be helpful.

If it thinks the interface is a camera, you have something wrong...

I agree, from all the screenshots I'm pretty sure you don't have the proper drivers installed or some sort of oddball driver conflict going on.

I GOT IT TO WORK!!!!!! Think I had the driver installed from the wrong part. I made the computer pull the driver from the CD, and it worked. Dont ask me to do It again, dont think I could took me all day! Flashed, and saved my tune, then ran a scan while making a pass! Forgot to save the scan, so I lost it, and couldnt make another pass because the car blew the down pipe, and the up pipe off!! My mph at 60mph is reading 10mph, timing is at 7.5 at WOT, and wideband shows 9.5(Using meth). Thanks for all the help. Now tell me how to fix MPH, and and 4degrees of timing at WOT. (Jokeing) I know put in your on work, time to get to reading!
