I'm not running cats so I know there will be a little smell. I just got a tune last Friday and all day Saturday I smelt no fumes at all. Sunday my ses light came on and it's showing low voltage to bank 2 knock sensor. After that my nasty rich smelling fumes are back. Should I take it back to the tuner?

You need a new knock sensor. That will help some but without cats you will always have a fuel smell. I have a great tune on my car and it still stinks.

Well like I said before my ses light came one Sunday there was no fumes. Think the ses light retarded the timing? Would that cause fumes? It runs fine though

It could cause it to run rich. I would replace it and go from there. I can tell you though I have had 3 cammed F-bodys with no cats and every one has had a fuel smell. My G8 had Kooks headers and highflow cats and it didnt have any fuel smell. Cats make all the difference in smell.

i have a cammed 402 and the first day had no cats, and our cloths smelled really bad from fumes, then for a year i had high flow cats and was ok, this spring i put 4'' exauste with muffler and found it to be not loud enough so i took my cats of and the smell is back, will be putting the cats back on.

Personally reminds me of when I was little going to car shows with my parents and walking behind muscle cars as they were running...ah the rumble and oh the smell does it all.

Haha! never thought of it that way.
I just hate walking in somewhere and still think i'm in my car lol. I could deal with the smells if they wouldn't follow me around

i replaced both knock sensors and the fumes arent near as bad and no ses light. maybe it did retart the timing, idk, i would think i could tell by the way it ran but who knows..

Alot of times the smell is from to much timing at idle.
