Default Any mail order tuners not need the PCM sent in?

I have a tune from PCM4Less from years ago. Finally getting the car back out and trying to get it squared away. Talked to someone at PCM4Less about sending them datalogs to update the tune. First they said the base tune should be spot on and it doesnt need updated. Then they said if I wanted them to take a look at it I needed to mail them the entire PCM. **** that, Im not going to have my car down for a week or two waiting for them to mail it back.

Do any of the mail order tune places that do LT1s not require the PCM physically? I want to send them my specs, get a base tune and send them datalogs and they email me updates. This not the norm?

i thought pcm4less had that whole exchange deal where they send you a tuned pcm and then you send your old pcm back to them and get the $100 core charge refunded?

they suck i talk to them today and they said they cannt do a sd tune with mail order and they wanted me to send me ls1 pcm( 24x coversion) to them because they have problems with people frying them out whe they download there tunes so they wanted me to send it in. then they said a lt1 cant go over 1000rwhp the engine wont let it. after that i hung up the phone. i want a email tune back and forth so you dont even have to send it in just send email back and forth to get mine dial in with the new setup. but

try frosttuning or they is a guy that does alot of tunes on hp tuners forum that will probley do it

Your trying to run a 1k horse Car on a mail order tune? Yea you'd be lucky if the motor survived... Don't cheap out on the tune with that much power. Too much invested to let a $500 service stand in between you as max power/ reliability...

You can buy this http://www.tunercat.com/cables/lt1kit.html and get a free TTS datamaster scanner. And if you have wireless internet have whoever you use tune it Team Viewer to remote tune it

If you purchase the LT1 cable from TunerCat we can help you. I highly recommend Ed Hutchings.

I have the OBDI cable from AKM cables to hook up and flash my PCM, I've taken datalogs and uploaded tunes before.

Is there a different one needed to use tunercats?

Well you have everything already then you need as far as hardware. Only other thing is Winflash from Tunercat to read and write the .bin file in unless you have that too already.

I recommend Ed Hutchings as well. He has tuned so many cars on the dyno and on the street and has ALL of the files. Surely something will either be a direct match or really close.

Op dont ya think your kinda asking alot for a mail order tune?a bolt on car is fine with a mo,but anything more than that is a baseline tune untill you can get a dyno tune. I dont know why you would even want to cheap out on the most important part of the car,i cant see your sig but what kind of mods are done? Dont think im attacking you, i just dont put to much faith into mo tunes

im not looking for a mail tune i ask for a email tune. you get 3 tune to start and then you data log email back the tune. then they send you more tunes and so on or there is a program were they can get into your laptop to do the tunning over online. they guy above said the the guys name on hp tuners Ed Hutchings . but the companys around my house i had trouble in the past (no names) but more than one. my engine sat up at one shop for 2 months a well know company (i bet alot of peaople on here have there parts on there car)and nopthing. so i grab it back went to another shop and payed $1300 for a tune but i didnt like it. there are two more shops around but i dont trust them with the 24x conversion and sd tune.

$1300 for a tune that thing better run perfect and make a chevy volt look like a gas hog! That's a premium price it should have been spot on.
